Terms of Therapy
Last updated: February 2026
These Terms of Therapy set out the agreement between Dr Giulia Neri ("I", "me") and you, the client. By booking and attending sessions, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
Therapist
Dr Giulia Neri — HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical Psychologist); BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist. Practice location: Remote/online (UK).
1. Purpose of therapy
Psychological therapy is a collaborative process aimed at improving wellbeing and functioning. Therapy can involve exploring thoughts, feelings, behaviours, relationships, and coping strategies. Outcomes vary and cannot be guaranteed.
2. Eligibility and scope
- I work with adults aged 18+ only.
- Therapy is delivered remotely (online).
- I provide evidence-based psychological therapy within my competence and scope, including CBT-informed approaches where appropriate.
3. Suitability and boundaries of care
Therapy will only proceed if I judge it is suitable and safe, following a free introductory call and an assessment. I do not provide: crisis or emergency services; inpatient or hospital-level interventions; or therapy where there is an active/acute presentation requiring urgent specialist services.
If therapy is not suitable, I will discuss alternatives and provide signposting or referral options where possible.
4. Location and jurisdiction
You must be located in the UK for sessions, unless we agree otherwise in writing. At the start of each session, you agree to confirm your current location (address/postcode) to support safety planning if required.
5. Contact between sessions
Routine contact is via the contact form or agreed email. Contact is not monitored continuously and is not suitable for emergencies. I do not provide out-of-hours crisis support.
6. Emergencies and crisis signposting
If you are at immediate risk of harm, call 999 or attend A&E. For urgent advice, contact NHS 111. You can also contact Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7).
7. Sessions: length and format
- Free introductory call: 15 minutes
- Assessment session: 70 minutes
- Standard therapy session: 50 minutes
- Typical frequency: weekly or fortnightly (to be agreed)
Sessions are delivered via a secure platform. You are responsible for ensuring a private space and a stable internet connection.
8. Fees and payment
- Free introductory call (15 minutes): £0
- Assessment session (70 minutes): £150
- Standard therapy session (50 minutes): £120
- Block of 6 therapy sessions: £690
Payment must be made within 48 hours of the invoice or payment link being sent, to secure your booking. You will not be asked to pay until suitability is confirmed at the introductory call.
9. Cancellations and missed sessions
Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice are charged at 100% of the session fee, unless there is a genuine emergency. If you do not attend and do not contact me, the session will be charged in full.
If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time to protect subsequent appointments.
10. Six-session blocks
A 6-session block must be used within 6 months of purchase. If you choose to stop therapy before completing a block, you may request a refund for unused sessions at the pro-rata block rate, provided you request it within 14 days of your last attended session. A £20 administration fee applies. Sessions already delivered, or missed/late-cancelled, are not refundable.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase during which you may cancel and receive a full refund, provided no sessions have been delivered.
11. End of therapy
Therapy may end when goals are met, by mutual agreement, or if I judge that ongoing work is no longer beneficial or safe. Where appropriate, I will aim to plan endings and signpost to alternatives.
12. Confidentiality
Therapy is confidential. I will not share information without your consent except where there is serious risk of harm, safeguarding concerns apply, disclosure is required by law, or professional supervision occurs in anonymised form. Full details are provided separately in the Confidentiality & Privacy Agreement, which is sent to you before your assessment session.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of therapy, please raise it with me first. You may also contact the HCPC regarding professional conduct concerns. Details are available on request or at hcpc-uk.org.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
